PART

BBP752-Level 3-DC and BBP752-Level 2-DC

The cable guides for the hem bar will run the length of the door, secured at a position just above the level of the floor.

  • Unlike the locking hem bar design, there is nothing to engage when the hem bar is lowered.
  • It is ready to provide full protection once it has reached the bottom of the door.
  • Nor is there anything to disengage before retracting the shield, allowing the shade to deploy and retract with complete automation.
  • Care must be taken that no obstacles will interfere with the cables or the hem bar's ability to ride up and down on them.

Standard construction allows for sizes starting at:

  • Door width of 36 up to double doors that are 96 inches across.
  • Door heights of 80, 84, and 96 inches.
  • Transom windows can be accommodated.

How it works

Bullet-resistant protection that deploys and retracts similar to conventional window shades

  • Shades deploy from above the window frame either by manual hand crank or a motorized system.
  • The motor can be activated with a standard wall switch, wireless remote control, or by connecting to an existing alarm system.
  • The all-fabric shielding benefits from the patented BBP "energy dissipation solution" that allows the shield to act as though it is catching the bullet rather than simply resisting its impact only with brute strength.
This significantly reduces the stress on the entire system, including the mountings to the walls and framing.
  • For added stability on smaller windows/doors, outdoor use, and recommended applications, two types of retention devices can secure the bottom of the fabric:
  • Cable Guide: As the shield lowers into positions, the hem bar rides along cables attached to the side of the window, providing added resistance to movement as bullets impact.
  • Locking Hem Bar: When lowered into position, the hem bar locks into mounts that sit below the window, holding the bottom of the shade securely into place as the bullets impact.
